BBC Two: new idents from Sunday 18 February

They look brilliant from the stills; and I think that should should work very well in practice. Plenty of room for expansion and flexibility for special occasions.

I'm not at all convinced about the box, but you can't have everything.

Anyone know what the music for the idents will be like? Personally, i hope that it is quite haunting and eerie, just like the music of the 90s. Anyone agree?

Very impressive - I'm glad they're (almost) going back to their old ways.

It's a very clever idea actually - modern and expandable. That Capuchino one at the top of the page looks fantastic. Not too sure about that green box though.

They really do look good, with Cappuccino and Zoetrope being my favourites.

They should have used the BBC One-style logo at the bottom centre to fit in with a new era. Anyone agree?

The box font is Avenir (according to Digital Spy)

It actually says this in the press release too.
As the box is missing on some of the caps do you think it animates on a bit like the BBC3 box?
IMO that would make it a bit more interesting.

Totally. They could use a different font to BBC One, but i definetly think the logo should be at the bottom centre, and not in a box. The press release says 'The logo retains its block shape in line with the rest of the portfolio, but has a more contemporary font (Avenir) and a new colour (deep aqua).' The rest of the portfolio - except BBC1 of course .

Apart from that the idents look brilliant.

I'd have to see what they look like in action. From the pictures they remind me of the old trails from the early 1991 era, but I'm worried that in action they will look like Channel 4's idents, which are good, but it will be a shame if they are identical in style.

The box doesn't really look right, but I suppose you just can't have it all.

Ooh, they do look rather impressive - very much harking back to the 90s. Can't wait to see them on screen.

I must say I quite like the new box, I like the colour,and it goes well with the rest of the ident, unlike the purple one.
