BBC Two: new idents from Sunday 18 February

According to TV-Ark it also made an appearance a few years back during extremely hot weather. Likewise, the Snowman Christmas ident made another appearance during extremely cold weather.

Yes, there are some topical uses of idents. If only Ice Cube wasn't trapped inside the yellow studio...

Does anyone have any idea what time they'll debut?

So the first Sunday program would be CBeebies at 6am (1am-5am is TBA).

Do we usually get an ident before CBeebies or do we just crash straight into it after Ceefax pages or whatever. And what about after CBeebies? Do we go straight into Smile on CBBC?

If this is so then we should see the first ident before Something For the Weekend at 10am

So, in short, either before 6am, 7.30am or 10am. Well, thats my thinking anyway

There's usually an ident into CBeebies on Saturdays, but not entirely sure if Sundays are the same as I have seen instances of going straight in from Ceefax without an ident. After that, the next ident would be at 10am.


Are we going to see a complete 'spoiler' video of the idents full and clean surface online before they've even aired, like BBC 1 got? If a vid is released, I'd have thought short clips of each, or a very low-quality stream would've been more sensible, as that's surely more fitting of any advance preview, to give you just a sneak peek rather than the whole lot?

I don't think we can expect the new package to be anywhere near as disaparate or diverse as what we would have seen a decade ago, unless they have a unique series of stings and 1 or 2 annual special idents minimum, which is unlikely as these are (sadly) pretty much non-existant in this age. With that in mind, the two "Home" idents that were aired last year were IMO probably the biggest surprise the current set has given.

I expect that we will get a glimpse of the new logo in the next few days (IIRC it was around about this time we got to see the new BBC one logo)

Any predictions on what it may look like? I'm still going for this as suggested way back in this thread:

I reckon the new logo will be in the same style as BBC one but appear in the bottom middle ala 1997-2001 style.

So there's no sneaky look at the new idents yet? Have we got to wait till 'official launch day' this time round?

I would expect something either today or tomorrow. BBC1's were unveiled on 26th September, 11 days before launch.
Today is the 7th February, 11 days before launch. I don't think its too late yet

I just saw an image of a 2 falling off a building as i was browsing on the bbc two website, this happened when it was loading and disappered when fully loaded, i tried re-freshing but it didn't come back up

Was this before the Dragons Den promo? If so its one of the 'flapping 2's', designed by AMV BBDO. They've been on for ages.
