Hear, hear! Couldn't agree more. Using stings just for Xmas packages only just isn't sufficient for nowadays - especially considering how nice most of both BBC 1 and BBC 2's animations were a decade or so ago, and yet no sign of regular ones on-screen anymore.
Let it be known that Lambie-Nairn created stings for the Dancers on BBC 1, but I doubt they were ever shown on Network - I imagine those in London chose to pretty much leave them on the shelf. NI made use of them for a bit though.
On a side note, I find the 90's BBC 2 Bowling Alley / Tenpin sting rather whimsically humorous - The accompanying jingle isn't particularly jokey as you might expect, but that's precisely why it works so well with the animation; definitely one of my favourites, that.
