Damned inconsiderate of them to make distinctive bespoke logos as well. Why oh why oh why can't they use easy to obtain clip-art or Zapf Dingbats so we can have our fun?

Turning the sarcasm-o-meter off for a moment (and I **DO** realise that the above post is pure sarcasm Smile), do bespoke logos cost that much more than generic ones, really?

Is there such a thing as a non-bespoke logo?

Sure, go look through the dotcom boom and see how many logos are a recognisable font with a "swish" underneath them. Hundreds of logos with just the colour to seperate them.

Has anyone noticed that BBC1 returned to its normal idents yesterday, but BBCs 2, 3 and 4 are still using the festive presentation? Does this mean the new idents are coming? We know BBC2's getting new idents, but 3 and 4 may just get a slight revision to fit in with the current corporate branding.

But the BBC normally takes all Christmas decorations down at the same time.

I suspect that there will be some common look between brands. The new BBC2 endboards will probably be similar to the BBC1 endboard, except a different colour and a different animation. And in the press release, BBC2 was spelt "BBC Two" instead of the more corporate "BBC TWO". This might be an indication of a logo like

[b)[b)[c) Two

or perhaps

[b)[b)[c) two

which would be reasonably inline with BBC1 branding but enough to be "different".

I think the only reason BBC1 is still using the red box is to keep a consistent look while all the channels relaunch.

But look at the other new logos the BBC have launched (BBC Jam, BBC Breakfast, etc.). They're both in different positions to BBC One. That could mean the BBC could be in any position.

Sorry to bring this thread up again...but BBC2's new look must be coming soon since www.bbc.co.uk/bbctwo is going tv presentation crazy with loads of links to past idents etc. I get the feeling that all this is leading to something special...and they know it!

well its interesting to see the latest BBC THREE presspack
it still contains the bugs and the current THREE logo but there is no blue box in sight. of course this could mean nothing but its interesting all the same.

I also saw the new trailer for a new food programme on BBC2 - it used the purple box on a mint wrapper. Clever, but if the BBC's track record is anything to go by, it probably won't be the new trailer style (logo in the trailer's context).

The BBC Four presspack is from last year, as this year's hasn't been released yet.
