Two things I'd like to mention as seen as the thread has re-emerged.

Firstly, has anyone else seen the more frequent use of Bounce Sombre? As far as I can see it's getting many playouts before the relaunch, even into some more unusual junctions (like into comedy programmes or three times out of six junctions).

That brings me to the second point. Has anyone get any more information on the rebrand at all? So far we've heard nothing on BBC Two.

Especially now these cock-ups are becoming more common.

It's just bad that something that was (I assume) supposed to make things run smoother, has just made things so poor. It's down to the system that controls everything. The system is supposed to let the human beings take control at any point when something goes wrong, but it doesn't. It also doesn't work properly in the first place, so things often go wrong.

The amount of recorded continuity, and its increasing use, is disturbing.

People willing to kill innocent people in the name of religion is disturbing. The growing number of obese children is disturbing. Recorded continuity is not. Get a sense of perspective on things.

The word 'disturbed' can mean several different things in several different contexts, so comparing the 'disturbance' of cheapskate recorded continuity to much more extreme things such as murder and obesity is both inaccurate and highly distasteful. Example: you can be disturbed by a knock at the door (possibly trivial) or a major explosion (exceptionally unlikely but hardly trivial).

And recorded continuity can be judged as being 'disturbing' in the sense that the broadcaster may appear not to care much about its viewers if it's done shoddily.

Err...Methinks the DOG from the overnight LZ should be turned off now, perhaps?

15 minutes into the the day's programmes, and I still see it.

EDIT: has finally gone after 20 minutes; I think that's a record, at least from what I've seen before -- it would usually still be there for just a minute or two at most.

I guess it will have a new logo like BBC ONE.
It will probably look like this.

I suspect it will be in that style but I think they'll use the "2" logo instead of the word.

Oh why so? The "2" has never been the channel logo, only the subject of the idents. I would of thought they'll all be in full text, and lower case with perhaps the exception of BBC Three...

I do hope they keep the "2" in some way though, and as I've said, make it a real world 2 not CGI.

Yup, there was a logo of sorts with the '2' pre-97... On the trails and slides, a white 2D '2' with the BBC logo directly underneath, situated in the upper left corner of the screen. You could say it was like a small logo of the ident layout at the time.

I personally like the idea of having a '2' in the logo for trails as well as in the actual ident symbol, but since we haven't seen such in 9 years or so, I think it might be considered a bit too old-school.
