I don't like it much either, and I' m not that keen on Paint Pot either - it seemed a quite amusing spoof of Paint at first, but four years later, it's just annoying.

It's Glass! Now why have they chosen to illustrate BBC2 with an ident that hasn't been used for at least eight years??

I am surprised Glass is on the bbc' s website, thanks 4 lettin us know, maybe they're bringing it back, Glass and Paper Cu-Out must have been the least used '2' idents ever!

I'm not sure about least used, they were certainly both used very frequently in the early days, but I assume they must have been dropped around the time the new batch of idents came out in late 1993, or possibly even earlier.

I think Optic & Powder replaced Glass and Paper Cut-Out on the 1st November 1992!

While we're on the subject of The 2, can anyone help me out on this, coz it's been niggling me for sometime... From which side is the water meant to be coming from in the Water ident?
I must be thick not to have worked this out!! I know one side's greener than the other, but shouldn't it be the bottom-right with water, or is this another unsolved mystery about The 2 and it's mysterious gravity form?!

Anyway, I just downloaded the extended Water closedown from TV Ark! So cool, and erm, refreshing too! It's got me in the mood to set my video! I reckon if BBC2 closes down early - which it will on Monday morning 1:05am - they might sneak us an extended ident... Oh, but then the idents might change - hope it ain't too late!

I just wish the Beeb wouldn't keep clearing out idents and adding new ones. Ok, they can add new ones, but don't frecking drop the original ones!! Doesn't make any sense to me! They could have had a nice little collection/sought (more variety to choose from) and everyone would've been happy. Some of us do like Paper Cutout and Glass you know! Thank God for the internet, I know about them! Bring em back!

I agree with u Conrad, I've said the same as u before that if they kept the old ones and when they added new ones they're would be more to choose from, but they've never liked keeping them. The current BBC TWO closedowns at weekends arn't as good as they used to be, they don't use the clock they talk at the beginning of the ident and don't play it fully, they go staright to ceefax as soon as they've said what they have to say, however if the idents are going we will surely be treated with a special closedown, hopefully with many idents, keep ur eyes peeled on Sunday the 11th!

Don't worry mate, I've set the video in advance!! Btw, does the Water ident look like the water's on the right or the left??

I'm pretty sure the water is on the left side of the ident!
