Are we likely to see new BBC Two idents to mark their 40th anniversary?

How about a '2' with a birthday cake, or '2' at a party?

Surely BBC One should get special iden't aswell, because they beccame BBC One on the same day as BBC Two started, instead of just BBC Television Service.

Or they could have classic BBC TWO idents from the past and stick their purple square on them!

Maybe they'll show the newly discovered footage of the opening night.

It's a fascinating piece of TV history and just a bit sppoky..... especially as the first 2 minutes is mute

As long as it's shown whole and un-cropped, that'd be worth watching. BBC2 is still my favorite channel.

They had a celebration and an ident for the 30th anniversary, so the possibility of having a 40th is slim, but with that footage, who knows!

Let's hope they do something good on the day.

Their 30th Anniversary ident was based on the "Powder" ident with the 2 splatting down into the cake and cream flying everywhere...
