BBC Two ident to make a return!

The grapevine has been calling and it is rumoured that an old BBC Two '2' ident (post 1991) will be making a short comeback for a little while.

I don't know what it will be (I suppose we could suspect...) and for what reason. Does anyone know of any celebration programmes BBC Two could be likely to cover in the near future? I can't think of anything off hand.

Cant think of the anniversary/reason either. Is it the '2' with the parallel lines through, or the 'TWO' with reg/green/blue? I used to love that ident, but maybe it was my youth. Looks a little tacky now.....

I hope they reintroduce 'silk' or 'shadow'. They were my faves mostly because of the excellent sound tracks... especially 'silk'. Can't really think of any special events that would warrant an old ident being aired though. Perhaps the 'I love 199x' series could have something to do with it?

Am I being dense? When you say that the 'idents' will return, do you mean previous variations of the current '2', or the earlier idents?

Ummm, I gotta BIG feeling is the bbc firecraker one, cos i was on the bbc resourses website, (that show where and who make the 2's) and they were taling a lot about the firecracker one!

I hope it is the silk or shadow, they did have great tunes to those!! What about the Gardener's World one becuase they're having a special Gardening night on BBC TWO on Friday night (Good Fiday)?

Ah, good point, it probably is that then. I thought that one was quite good anyway, why did they drop it? It wasn't as if it was overused or anything, it seamed quite fresh.

Aha! Could well be that one. I'll keep a look out. Its bound to be one of those types of idents because something like 'Silk' doesn't (sadly) imply an event.
