I know it's a little late but ahead of Newsnight on Tuesday 8th March a different version of Serious Bouncewas aired. Normally, Serious Bounce starts with the two right up at the front of the screen (the third movement in normal Bounce) whereas on Tuesday Serious Bounce began right at the very beginning of the usual Bounce ident.
Anyone know the reason or is it a 'new' ident?

An error by any chance? I noticed it awell, but I thought that it was quite obvious that the audio came in too early.

Not new, there are two versions of Bounce Sombre and there always have been.

I thought that the audio and video were recorded together on an ident not separately all though then again BBC TWO has made similar mistakes before - putting Logo Flip music on Formation when they had the 40 years logo.

I think I must be making those invisible posts again.

Not invisible but it seems you may be talking to yourself. I've noticed there are different versions of the bounce but i'd never noticed how much detail actually goes into the idents.
I had noticed the shadow but i'd never noticed the reflection before.

I can tell you that the music on "Bounce Sombre Long" doesn't match the animation unlike "Bounce Sombre Short". The "harp plucks" match the 2 landing on the floor in the latter.

If you'd like me tell you about the difference between the music of "Drum Short" and "Drum Long", do feel free to ask... Ahem...

You're probably only messing around but there's only one version of Drum.
In response to Marksi, I was writing my post at the same time as you published yours therefore did not have chance to read your comments before I posted.

In that case please will you (or anyone else for that matter) tell me the difference and if possible have a video clip of it.

In the short version the 2 starts off facing the other way.
