Yes - that was a little more like it - but I'm not sure why would they add one track without effects, then a second, different audio track with some effects*, if they are to be used together like this - it seems a little disjointed...
*Some, but not all - seems to be missing the sound of the large wave(s) crashing against the 2, which sort of breaks the illusion of the sound being part of the scene; a different, more basic effect.

Are BBC Two bosses on another planet? How can they think this was a good idea?
Let's assess what they've done since this batch launched in 2007:
- Removed variety by axing many idents
- Fiddled with the box so it's on the wrong side
- Used garish colours for new endboards
- Unncessarily changed the music for the worse.
I feel like I'm getting more and more cynical by the day in thinking they may, as someone said earlier, be trying to ruin the 2 symbol.

Whether it's self sabotage or not I do think for the next set of idents ditching or changing the 2 should be an option. It's not a necessity so let people pitch ideas retaining it, but also have a look at the alternatives too. As iconic as the 2 has become, unlike C4 BBC2 has had a variety of logos over the year (mainly based around a 2 of some sort), and if this ident and graphics set is anything to go by it might be time to move on again. Having the "BBC TWO" alongside the "2" just doesn't work at the moment either, though that wasn't really a problem in the past.
As I've said before I do think retaining the BBC HD idents and repurposing for BBC2 would have been preferable, either sticking the 2 in the diamond or redoing them completely so it's the 2 rather than the diamond which is the focus of the idents.

Just the complete lack of sense or pride. And this left untouched:
NI (obviously) seem to have reapplied the original sound effects over the latest cack from Network (dipping the volume of said cack considerably too). I think one day they'll tip them over the edge and they'll come up with something truly magnificent as a two-fingered riposte.

How do they not realise how awful that looks - and has done from the start. It's not even as if it's done in a kind of ironic way with some kind of cult appreciation for the garish attack on the eyes.
The trailer end boards and associated presentation must be one of the easiest and cheapest things to change when it comes to presentation and without even touching the idents (however tired they might be) just changing those to something far easier on the eyes would lift the image of the channel immensly.
