Considering BBC HD had become BBC Two HD for most of the day, this had to be coming sooner or later. It'll be nice to see awful motion tracking in glorious high definition.

Any chance of some new presentation to match?

It'll be a shame to lose BBC HD, though the difference these days is slight.

I wonder whether the Test Card will appear when the channel closes down at weekends. The filler which appears on BBC 2 currently is very similar to the HD filler.

Pity that BBC Three/Four/CBBC and CBeebies HD programmes will only be viewable in HD via iPlayer (as confirmed by a BBC spokesperson) Let's hope that they do actually release the HD content via this route.

It'd be nice if they could do a 'HD zone' overnight, like they do with a sign zone, I.e. put popular programs from BBC 3,4 or CBBC on overnight so that fans can set their PVRs and get a HD look at their programs.
It's not a perfect solution but it's better then nowt. GivesBBC Two a good use of the old Ceefax slot.

Isn't that the plan? There is an awful lot of BBC Two airtime at the moment devoted to "This is BBC Two", which unless it has changed lately is still the same clips from when it first aired last October.

The idents at the moment are advertising that BBC Two is channel of the year, only its been very poorly done.

I was sort of expecting BBC Two to re-brand along with the launch of the HD channel.

Don't think it's going to happen. There are no "plans at present" to change any of the BBC's idents, for any channel. Looks like the Autumn at the earliest is when we could hyperthetically expect new presentation.
