Well, they've been using that retro Ceefax holding page for well over a year now, every day at 6.00am and at 6.58am

The reason for it is because the teletext generators were made back when that logo was in use, and haven't been updated since (I think updating it would require new circuits and such, when it's much easier to leave it as it is).

But even that was out of date by 2005, it being based on the front page used from 1996 to 1999.

The slide with the old logo is just a nostalgic look back at Ceefax's past. It's also in widescreen, and only switches to 4:3 just before the pages appear. I wouldn't think it came from the generator. Doesn't it fade between the slide and the pages?
