Wow... Surprised nobody jumped on here to mention this... This is what I saw on Network:

After the London Marathon highlights ended, we stayed with the endboard for longer than expected... this then disappeared to be replaced by black for around 2 minutes until an apology caption came up... and shortly afterwards we joined the snooker. Obviously another cockup on the new playout system (maybe in automation mode at this time?)

Meanwhile, I did have a flick around the nations who all seemed to be operating normally until the time came to join the snooker, obviously with network down they couldnt... I can't remember which nation it was, but one of them played out an ident in full... then I think all three went to apology captions (all slightly differently worded) and one managed to play some music before Network came back...

If this is the automation mode that caused this, they should definately go back to what it was before! It's not the first time that's happened. When will the BBC learn? Rolling Eyes

That must have been the Llandaffia. They like their music in Wales, you know!

OK... I know I saw it, but did anyone capture it at all for those who didn't but are interested?

Captures from the different nations would be nice, if possible.

Glad you liked this evening's choice of music here on BBC TWO NI. I'll play a different track if it happens again this evening. Smile

Thanks, Mark... a proper closedown and some Pages From Ceefax would be nice... but not much you can do about that I suppose!

If only the BBC had the sense to employ me... I could do a much better job (and show my anoraky side at the same time!)

LOL! More fun and games after the snooker ended...on Network we got a promo, then the apology caption came up for a couple of seconds... and the announcer slipped up a little bit on her spiel for a promotion of a Radio 4 programme!

And BBC One have just had some problems aswell at the BAFTAs. The picture flickered a bit, the sound went and then the picture went off for a good 20 seconds!

Just as ITV were about to get their award - it's a conspiracy Laughing

Looks like the BAFTAs aren't live but are a delayed/edited quick turnaround - and they also seem to be having problems with the link to TV Centre.

The long period of black when the audio jumped back a few seconds, looked like a poorly handled cross-roll between two VT/Server replays.

The freeze/break-up of picture looked like a digital circuit between the OB and TV Centre dropping out.

What a shame the BAFTA's couldn't have stayed off the air a bit longer.

Awards shows never make really great telly, but this one really is the pits. And, Graham Norton was a mistake.

On the show or generally?. You just know every show on BBC1 will now be hosted by Graham Norton to try and justify his fee.

I agree, these awards are just so dull, every gag is falling flat and half the people coming up to win the awards are complete unknowns, who were those from I'm a Celebrity?, why wern't we told.

It's hardly the National TV Awards is it!
