Pleased to see the 2 has been stripped of its 'personality' at last! This is actually the first BBC2 ident in four years that I genuinely like, in fact it feels a lot more like the pre-2001 idents than the present ones. Can't believe it's ten years since the Wallace and Gromit ident...

I like the way the 'TWO' is lit up on the trails

So, have the BBC finally learnt their lesson about recycling Christmas idents? One can only hope but this a great start!

On the shorter version after a few seconds one of the shooting stars smacks the screen - nice touch.

Well that was much better and like the '2's of old. Instead of limiting it with a yellow background and trying to make it wacky, it freed the imagination. I hope BBC2 moves away from the yellow background and the '2' doing something comic (or so they think).

I think BBC2 may be moving away from the personality 2s; the Pedigree Comedy idents were the first move in this direction.

Seen three versions so far. The first one broadcast, the one where a spark bumps into the screen and the third where sparks squiggle in the centre of the screen. Good effort.

Fantastic effort from BBC2! I'm still not going to forgive BBC1 though.

Anybody managed to record the three BBC2 idents?

Visually they are quite nice on their first viewing, but I think the music is awful and doesn't have the same impact as the tree ident for example.

Yes - don't hesitate to PM me if you'd like a clip of each.

About the music as was mentioned, I agree, it just sounds too easy going and doesn't have the right feel to it.

Had it been accompanied by good audio, this would've received outstanding props from me; but as it is, I like it very much so, 9/10!
