"BBC TWO is changing"

It's nice having all the preview video stuff on there but I feel it's not entirely necessary. I'm sure one I saw was a direct copy of the trailer you can catch on TV anyway, so...

Worst bit about it is the scruffy BBC TWO heading I saw in green that looks like an afterthought as it is so out of place.

Why does it need to? as long as it's easy to navigate there's nop reason why it should look like every other sub-site

OK, this guy seems to think there is something going to happen at 6am. What is he on about? Is there anything in this? I mean, we know something new is going to be on screen, but what is going to happen exactly? I'll set the VCR just in case I suppose....

Interesting that Digital Spy is quoted on the BBC TWO homepage this morning:

This whole revamp seems to be rather haphazard and directionless. Why is there a link to Digital Spy on the channel homepage? What's the point of the channel homepage now: is it about content or about style? Is the emphasis on video clips or just a portal to the programme sites? And which is the "real" identity of BBC TWO - the bird theme online, or the personality theme of the television idents?

I know it's not been up for very long, but the whole thing seems to be very badly implemented. From the inconsistency of the online bird theme with the TV idents, to the sparse content, to the heavy emphasis on broadband video content, to the actual layout of the page itself - which seems to have no real structure beyond the random placement of white boxes with unpleasant shadow effects beneath them - there is very little to commend here.

It's not only that the site shares nothing but the BBC TWO logo with the onscreen identity; it's also the fact that - if you ignore the context of BBC TWO's onscreen identity entirely, and review the site in total isolation - it is really quite unpleasant anyway, in terms of visual appeal, ease of use, browser compatibility and content. Eugh.

They've improved the accessibilty slightly. The background no longer animates on my PC and I regained the ability to use my scroll wheel.

Still Sh*t though!

EDIT: No, the background does animate, but it just doesn't interfere with scrollability any more.

Surely if something interesting is happening today, it must be at 6pm for the olympics? An actual chance of a new ident - if we can have Morris Dancing 2's then Skiiing 2's or Skating 2's can't be that impossible surely?
