Having said that, I was disappointed to see some of the 2's retire. 'Balloon' was one of my favourites, although presumably this was removed because a certain other channel featured a balloon from 1997. From the original set, I was also rather fond of Glass and Paper Cut Out - the latter of which only lasted a few months after launch.

Firecracker was voted best BBC2 ident of all time on here just after they were all scrapped IIRC. I'd have loved to see it brought back as the final ident but ho hum.

Re: Favourite BBC2 idents; I wasn't around for the vote (I'd have loved to have seen the complete set of results), but I must say Firecracker was originally my favourite of the era. Diary and Catalyst are also in my Top 5 but it's hard to put them in a particular order.

Ahead of Crufts at 20.00: Dog (Pedigree Comedy) Ident used followed by a VT Clock for the Crufts Titles.
It is nice that the Dog idents are being reused and not just left after they were used for around one month in the summer for the pedigree comedy season.

Love the Dog idents - only problem is they're just 10 seconds so it's too easy for announcements to outrun them. OK, so it's tricky getting animals to perform, but surely the real pooch could have been kept active for 30 seconds?

Am I the only one loving the new BBC2 website, now it's grown a little? I work every Wednesday night so I always miss The Apprentice (and never know when the repeats are) so it's great being able to watch the whole thing online. Same for Buzzcocks. I really hope they add more and more like this, it's really good stuff (and the video quality ain't too bad either).

Some of the site design itself is a bit scruffy, but the video content is useful if you need to catch up on missed programmes, or just want to watch an episode you've seen over again.

Yet another alteration of the ECP animation for the website shown earlier - the '2' appeared to be outlined but I can't say it made it look any better.

I would've expected some news on plans for a new look by now, but I haven't heard anything yet...

There's a rumour on another site that BBC2 will get a revamp in April.

Key word being "rumour" !

Last time I checked another site because of a rumour, was that claim of a BBC ONE change around the start of the month on DS; and that was a load of tripe.

There was mention some time ago that Jane Bennett said the channel would rebrand in the Spring, so April does make sense...but honestly, who knows? I'm happy to wait until Winter comes round again, if it means they'll inject plenty of variety back into TWO's identity.

Out of interest, has BBC Two's Morris Dancing ident returned for the May Day holiday? It's one of my faves from the current set, and haven't seen it in a while.
