A friend informed me that there was a breakdown on BBC Two during the snooker at around 20.00. Apparently breakdown music was played and the BBC Two Breakdown Caption was on screen. I missed it, sadly, and would be interested if anyone could elaborate on this further.
For those that are unaware of the breakdown caption, it is this one:

The breakdown didn't last for long though. No more than two minutes I would say.

I wasn't entirely paying attention, but what appeared to happen was the titles for Never Mind the Buzzcocks starting immediately after the end of Malcolm in the Middle.
They lasted around 15-20 seconds, before the breakdown caption, a spot of music, and the ident into the snooker. I don't think there was any interruption to the programme.

Was there an interruption to the snooker earlier, as I heard Ray Stubbs saying something about a power surge earlier today?

Did that still image get more viewers than the snooker then?

Watched the snooker most of the day, seemed to have missed all of this. Still, cracking match eh?

Nope, no interruption to the programme - the complete opposite in fact. The snooker continued until midnight. MOTD2 followed, with Hyperdrive, Family Guy, American Dad and the film The Great Gatsby all postponed!

Btw, i'm new here, so hey everyone!

For the second time. Those episodes were originally scheduled for 18 December according to the Radio Times.

I noticed multiple sound faults to the commentary at 11.30ish last night.

Alleged to have been "a computer failure in network" on uk.tech.broadcast. Sprinkle with as much sodium chloride as you feel appropriate.

Sounds like old-fashioned talk for "automation problem at Red Bee Media". But I'm not sure they'd agree that that was the problem.

The power problems were at the OB during Sunday Grandstand.
