I think they needed to do a radical shakeup of the BBC Two logos, as they were old (although some animations were new, people would still get bored by yet another new variation IMHO).
Keeping the stlyised 2 logo was a good idea, and the new layout is better (especially trailers and slides). I like the idea, and the Logo and Domino logos are really good IMHO.
The only real problem is there arnt enough idents. They do need more.

But isn't there something missing in the top left corner?
Yeah, but who cares! It looks better without all of that screen clutter.

To be exact it wasn't 11 years for the 4 originals left, it was 10 years, 9 months. They were certainly worthy of staying that long anyway. The new Christmas one has impressed me slightly bcos the other ones are so bad, I don't loathe them as much as I did but I only have to watch an old one on tape and start missing it! The BBC TWO new logos could have been put on hold till more new ones were made, half of the problem with the new look is that it was rushed. If the other channels are getting the new look why didn't they just make BC TWO relaunch with the other BBC channels!
I'm trying to think of exactly why the Xmas one is better than the other lot. I guess the obvious explosive bit is quite nice and the fact the camera moves as opposed to staying static (did the camera itself ever move on any of the old idents??) whereas ones like Domino, where it horribly cuts from a long shot to close up. The background seems to have a bit more depth - it gets darker at the top, like there's a roof. Okay, no biggie but it does make it look less surreal than the current bunch.
Generally less rushed I suppose.

I think the Christmas ident just shows more imagination than the others - but please, no more idents where it grows robotic arms!
Bring back the closedowns, that's all I ask! I'm even willing to tape every closedown next year - well it is better than kicking yourself for not doing it in the first place!
