BBC Two Wales did show the clock on the final night before the yellow 2s, back in 2001. Link - warning, Real Media

I wonder if there was a clock designed for the new look? After all, they were still debating over it for BBC One the following March.

TV Ark have a BBC2 Wales clock from what I think is the same 2001 date as my video - it's dated 1997 on the website but the announcement suggests otherwise.

This is from Monday 9th July 2001. I'll get the page updated.

I dread to think how garish the clock would be for the current look.

You could guarantee it would be missing a number.

Idea perhaps taken from the BBC2 30th Anniversary (Dropped Cake) ident (?)

I've requested a repeat showing of the 1995 BBC2 programme 'How Do They Do That', about the making of the BBC2 '90s idents. I know it's highly unlikely but maybe worth a shot.

I've requested a repeat showing of the 1995 BBC2 programme 'How Do They Do That', about the making of the BBC2 '90s idents. They have passed on my suggestion to the BBC scheduling department, but obviously cannot make any promises.

Can everybody please keep their eyes peeled for this programme in the BBC schedules. Many pairs of eyes keeping a look out are better than one!

I'd say it's very very unlikely they'd repeat it on TV. Why would they randomly just show one episode of a series like that?

In case you hadn't already realised 'we'll pass on your suggestion' is a standard generic reply.

That's not to say that someone at the BBC might put the item up online somewhere. Though if you're desperate to see it YouTube has it:

I never said it was likely, but if it were shown and was missed by everybody, I, and I assume many others, would be annoyed. All I ask is that people keep their eyes on the schedules for the time being.

They might be inclined to show it as a one-off repeat, as the content is very much relevant once again, for obvious reasons.

Yes, I do realize part of my reply is a standard generic response, but are you suggesting they've read my request and taken no notice of it whatsoever? I'd disagree with that.

Yes, of course it's available on YouTube but I'd like to see it in decent quality and stereo sound if possible.

I'd very much welcome it uploaded online, if it was in decent quality.

The one 5 minute item in the hour programme is relevant to some people here.

Seriously I wouldn't hold your breath, if I was you I'd concentrate your efforts on getting your uniform and pencil case ready for next week.

What do you expect them to do with your 'request'? One request for a programme amongst many many for other obscure programmes that'll never get shown

Yep, that was definitely the sort of age I saw in his profile picture. Rolling Eyes

The video the Inspector linked to is a perfectly passable off-air recording for reference, it's highly unlikely you'll find better unless the BBC upload it as part of their online archive (probably the best you can hope for).

As you can see, it was unsympathetically cropped for that Learning Zone segment, which would probably be the version they use if they ever did show it again.

Isn't there a copy on TV Ark from its original 4:3 broadcast?
