That green box should have never moved to the right.

The 2009 refresh as a whole should never have happened

Remember when the 2007 rebrand gave us gimmicks with the presentation such as "what 2 watch" & the Thursdays Are Funny strand? Those both disapeared during the 2009 refresh, it was like anything original or witty about the rebrand was completley thrown out of the window.

Quite literally through the '2' window.

Does anyone know if Mirror was an actual model? Because if not, I wouldn't mind seeing the '2' reedited and mixed in with the 1991 idents.

It was (as seen in 50 Years of BBC2):

And agreed, the modification was needless and stunk of an agency wanting to leave its mark.

I saw that very model at a trade show years ago, might have a picture of it somewhere.

Wit in the 'Windows on the World' package? That's a new one.

Even in the first two years of the set, I struggle to see anything witty; if anything, I'd say that all of the witty aspects of the set came after 2009. Are we going to forget the '50 Years' idents or the slough of themed idents we've got over the past 1 1/2 years?

Oh, and the 90s idents and stings.

The 'what2watch' campaign was hardly an original idea, in terms of both content and word play. At the same time, we had BBC ONE's "The ONE to Watch" and, even in the Yellow era, we saw the epitome of lingual wit with things like '2day' and '2night'.

The 'Thursdays are Funny' blocks were hardly revolutionary ideas either - BBC THREE's Comedy Tuesdays anyone?

Wasn't 'Thursdays are Funny' a bit of a crappy version of pre-2007's 'Pedigree Comedy' that had some quite amusing idents of a fluffy dog 2?

Yeah, which itself was also inferior compared to the 90's "Comedy Zone" imo.

How long has BBC Two shown a modified testcard W overnight?

That fluffy dog 2 was also re-used for the 50 years idents, if I'm correct?

More interesting design than is the norm, for this promo, shown on NI before Newsnight (I do wish they'd use the former 2 shape, though).

I'm 90% sure BBC2 NI used that for something previously, with an interesting lime green box if memory serves. It's very nice, as you'd expect from their team.
