That picture is ludicrously tiny, but yeh, that's pretty much what it would look like.

Here is a recreation of what I suspect the Glass ident looks like with the centralized BBC2 NI logo.

This is the real Glass ident.

At this rate, it would be funny if BBC Two NI somehow ends up using Glass longer than it was originally used for.

Here's my suggestion if we're throwing ideas in:

Cavan, besides Car and Glass, what other BBC2 ident did you capture today?

I captured Predator, Duck, Dog, Swan, Woodpecker and the Sub sting. Every other junction used the Rich Season and Wrong Mans idents.

Here are yesterdays' though.

Seriously though, why can't we just go back to the 1997 use of the logo in Gill Sans? Is it that bad to go back?

I'm sure if they can go back to a whole set of idents, a font isn't going to do much damage.

As tempting as it is, the logo from '97 would just look wrong alongside the other channels today.

The whole look was designed with the same consistency in mind as the previous look in '91: all channels could sit in an ad junction perfectly:

Putting that BBC Two logo alongside boxed BBC3/BBC4, and laid out BBC1 would just add to the mess.

How about getting rid of the word Two? and have the BBC Logo?

They tried that once, lasted all of two junctions Laughing

Personally I'm not convinced with the boxless version although kudos to NI for unearthing a swathe of idents. Network have a treasure trove to choose from, why they insist on the same handful only they must know.

The box just needed to be the same size as the 50th and in line with the Subtitles. It's not difficult!

I can't believe they tried out that boxless version over 6 years ago... I feel old now! That only felt a couple of years ago!

Personally I agree with Asa and neither NI or Network have got them right. I feel the box used in the Christmas idents would work the most, that or having the logo stripped as per 1997 style but with 2007 typeface of course.

Either way I'm still glad that we get to see a revival of some excellent idents, no matter how they're executed.

Yes, the more I look at the Northern Ireland idents, I feel that a (white/black) logo box of the same proportion and position of the 50 Years version would be the best option here. The over-sized, badly positioned, teal box on the Network idents just doesn't work. And just scrap the 'Subtitles' indicator completely on the Network versions.
