How about getting rid of the word Two? and have the BBC Logo?

Just a quick MS Paint job of the concept of a central logo similar to 97-01, though with remnants of the teal box...

Or they could just go wholesale back to the 97-01 style.

I didn't think it could get any worse than what the network have done, but you might have just proved it could. BBC NI have it as right as it can be.

Better Q:

What is TV3 filling its slots with? Will UTV try and grab even more ITV shows? and will it also try and fill some of its gaps with more ch4 stuff? who has the rights to Benidorm in Ireland? how has TV3 kept Broadchuch?

Could we see the Collapse of TV3?

Thanks for the kind words. Conversely, I'm not a fan of NI's transparent box, so it just goes to show how subjective it all is.

Why on earth Network insists on putting that redundant 'Subtitles' indicator on all of its idents, I have no idea (would make a nice change if they even used the correct channel font).
BBC One is also using Gill Sans for the Subtitles indicator. But yeah, why bother with it at all nowadays, isn't literally everything subtitled now?

It may even make more sense to inform the viewer when subtitles are not available. Like you say, there can't be that many programmes nowadays where that's the case.

Mr Kite, how about something like this?

Apologies to everyone else but it is just a small one Very Happy

Regarding the "No Subtitles" tag, you're bang on the money. Almost everything is subtitled now so it would make much more sense.

As far as I'm aware, all BBC One and BBC Two output is subtitled and has been for some time. BBC Northern Ireland and BBC Wales stopped including the 'Subtitles' indicator on idents some time ago; BBC Scotland and BBC Network continue to display it on idents. They may as well add 'Widescreen' and 'Colour' indicators. Pointless.

In 1999 the BBC announced their intention to have 100% of programming subtitled by 2008. They achieved this in May of 2008, meaning the Subtitle tag has been redundant for just under seven years.

Here's my suggestion if we're throwing ideas in:

I prefer the BBC and TWO to be the same size but that's not half bad. I think I prefer to to what NI is doing and it also looks similar to the BBC One logo.
