Anyone catch any continuity between 14:30 and 16:00 on BBC2 today? The CA's intro ahead of
Yes Minister
sounded almost like a parody of his usual odd style. I don't know the guy's name - he's the one with the funny DJ-ish inflections.
Also some very rare (these days) magenta subtitles (also missing closing full stops) making an appearance during
Yes Minister.
I assume these - like those for
'Allo, 'Allo!
and
Are You Being Served
- are from the original broadcast, as they take rather more liberties with the transcription than you get these days.
If there are any other subtitling nerds around...

So were gone from Sundays don't stop to slides and now BBC2 are using Silk into Odyssey?
Said ident has reappear now at 8pm so it seems who decide what is used? Also I never thought for one min it would be BBC NI who would break ranks first and screw up Sunday evening line up. There not pushing stuff back an hour to have Glasgow made programme " After Bannockburn" in that slot Its months old and B it should be given a better slot.
NI used one of their regular graphics to promote Titanic Town, in the junction at 7:40pm last night (the teal coloured background graphic, with slanted 2 on the left), but with a still of Swan ident showing through the 2. The swan and signets had been repositioned so that they showed through the lower part of the 2, and it looked like 'extra' water, sourced from the ident, had been added above the swan for the upper part of the 2.
Edit: Thanks to Cavan, who has provided a still, literally moments before I submitted this post!
DIdn't know where to put this small comment, so here will do given it's a BBC TWO programme.
Anyway, Antiques Road Trip on Monday used some background music in one scene which I knew I recognised from somewhere but couldn't recall. Anyway, it's been bugging me all week, and tonight struck me that it's the theme to Room 101.
Must be a library piece then, but here's the evidence from Antiques Road Trip - forward to 22:00, and it runs in the background until 23:20.
