Surprised the Wimbledon ident hasn't been discussed on here. Players batting a 2 shaped ball around complete with grunting "B" "B" "C" "Two" and an on-screen scoreboard.

Was used before Wimbledon 2Day but not sure if it was used earlier in the day.

Looks awful really cheap, particularly the long periods when the 2 isn't on screen and it's just a doubles match in view.

CC: denton; anyone @ BBC Two NI

Please inform your wonderful colleagues in England that there is a clean and true 16:9 version of "Silk" in existence. They don't have to play out a stretched 4:3 copy, they're making the channel look (even more) amatuerish. Thanks.

It does seem a little odd as presumably whoever was (finally!) asked to dig out a more suitable ident you'd think would know about what NI have been up and ask for the better copy.

The white box is just awful though and possibly not quite in the right place judging by the preceding trail tonight. Still, nice to see and hear it in use.

Agree - and having the score on screen really doesn't work for an ident either. Would have been better as one slow-mo shot probably of the two travelling across court (or being thrown up to be served or something).

That "B! B! C! TWO!" chant still makes my ears bleed.

And if some people have noticed, (or I could be wrong), it's also the wrong scoreboard. Now we use a either 16:9 or 14:9 one, I think it's 14:9 but I'm not sure

It appears to be 14:9 this year, which disproves something I wrote in the other thread about graphics packages. Never mind!

I was expecting to see this tonight as they went into Family Guy, but it was just Duck with a special CA featuring Cleveland... am I wrong in thinking this was a supposedly specially commissioned ident/promo?

I dont think that ident will appear until that new comedy show starts, but its not on next week.

iPlayer is streaming the new Family Guy episode. I don't think this was the case when it was on BBC Three?

The BBC must have gotten online rights when they negotiated a deal for this new series.

The current old episode is still blocked on BBC Two's live stream and The Simpsons Guy is not on catch-up.
