BBC Two 2015 with 90s idents

Had my first "cringe" moment this morning when I caught a junction into Ed & Dara's Big Adventure in the Sign Zone on B2# - an upscaled static tilted "Steam" 2. Looked VERY fuzzy.

Most of my personal favourites are back on network. Excalibur/Optics are two I'd like to see fitting into the news/serious stuff fairly well. Excalibur would probably suit the Teal box quite well.

I'm sure I've saw "Paint" standard have a few outings outside of AC on the odd occasion...

Come on, surely it's time for them to come up with something new now? Using the old idents for this length of time just feels wrong.

Except for the fact that the vast majority of the UK does not care about such things.


The BBC would not shell out thousands of pounds to please a few people on an internet forum.

So why not go back to the previous ones then?

These resurfaced 90s idents are doing fine and being received far better than the Windows, Network just need to use a few more examples as mentioned to give it a bit more momentum.

I disagree. They are dated.

From what I've seen from the NI feed, they're far more concise with their use of the branding. The Windows theme was just a terrible mess. It's not *as* bad now with the 90s idents, but it needs a ruddy good tidying up.

They need to get rid of the Windows based trailers just to put the final nail in the coffin and bring something that's in line with what's being used, then It would look much better.

The fact that Network are using Neon stings and Silk based menus but not the actual full idents is also a bit odd.

The 2007 pres would look fine in my opinion with these idents, just resize the "2" window on trailers and slides.

2007 pres , thats shocking enough that pres from 2007 is still running.

Technically it's since 2009. The less garish pres from the windows era ran 2007-2009.
