Not really, it shared writers and some of the cast of Hi De Hi (as well It Ain't Half Hot Mum) as but apart from that there was no real link between the two
Wasn't You Rang M'Lord a follow up to Hi-di-Hi

I wish BBC would try some of the more outsider shows, I'm still hopeful for
* You rang mlord
* The Goodies
* Secret Army
* All Creatures Great and Small
* Shoestring
* Lovejoy
How about some of the old BBC Doc?

I, too, would love to see Shoestring. Not worried about Series 1 as it's available on DVD, in uncut form (except for one minor music edit in Ep.1), but uncut episodes of Series 2 would be very welcome, as the prospect of a Series 2 DVD release is not looking likely anytime soon (I've made enquiries about it).
Unfortunately, though, the original running times vary quite considerably from one episode to another, so if the BBC chose to use Shoestring during AC, I expect they would have to make the running times pretty consistent. Therefore, they would probably end up with a similar amount of footage removed as the Alibi/UKTV Drama airings of a few years ago.

See also: Oh Doctor Beeching. (In fact don't bother seeing it, it was worse than You Rang M'Lord, and that takes some doing.)

They were essentially cast from actors, who appeared in their previous sitcoms.
I disagree about You Rang M'lord, it was quite good I seem to remember,more a comedy drama than their past shows. One advantage of their period settings is that they don't date that much
Incidently, as was noted in the documentary about Croft and Perry before Christmas, You Rang was the first mainstream sitcom to feature a lesbian character. Not the sort of programme you'd expect to break new ground like that

Here in England we got the predictable choice - big boxed RC Car.
Still, could be worse. Could be Alt-J's Sunroof. http://z5.ifrm.com/30495/17/0/e5307876//e5307876.png

Network are now using the '90s Sign Zone graphics, the same as NI have been using, except that Network, unfortunately, use their larger white box logo, as you would expect. Steam was used in the early hours, and Copper Cut Out and Silk were used this morning (with
possibly
one other, as I didn't catch the junction before Channel Patrol).
