Not sure if this blog post has been linked to previously, regarding the production of the Arts Night idents. Interesting read and sounds like the designer was/would be very much up to developing the set further:

Nice video, but why, oh, why is it necessary to have that bloody teal box? It spoils it, for me.

58 shots wasted on just one or two idents when it really should be the basis for a full on rebrand. Those idents are the best the BBC have produced in years and so easily could offer something much more to BBC2 and something much better than the rehashed 90s idents, and by having a mixture of idents like these with various logos and using some shots individually they'd have a fantastic 21st century look with everything the 90s ident set offered them.

Woodpecker and Jeffmister gave kudos

They could adapt the timings, cuts and music to create varying idents for different moods of programming.

It's a sort of 'everything one shouldn't do when choosing a suitable text size, font and alignment'.

I take it, you've ordered one though Wink

What's up with the BBC Two schedule on the Virgin EPG today? Earlier it scheduled 'Forbidden Planet' when some Tom Kerridge programme was on, and now QI XL is scheduled but whatever is no is not QI!

BBC Two has had schedule changes today for Wimbledon. Firstly because of rain and then later just because of a very long men's doubles final. The Virgin EPG does not update when schedules change, unlike other platforms.

They dropped the film this afternoon as they couldn't be sure exactly when they would return to the men's wheelchair doubles final, so scheduled some 30 minute fillers instead.

Tonight there was live tennis until 22:25, so Imagine was on 85 minutes late, and they've dropped QI and Live at the Apollo.

Ah I see! I don't have Virgin personally so have never encountered the non-updating EPG before (bit strange that it doesn't no?!). When Tom Kerridge was on the CA did mention Wimbledon over the ECP, and that they would be another half hour before rejoining - this made me assume whatever currently being shown was planned but obviously not!

The Virgin "V-HD" & "V+" platforms update their EPG daily, around midnight I seem to recall. The Virgin "Tivo" platform updates its EPG 3/4 times a day at 6-8 hour intervals. It does a lot more scheduling and planning logic which can take a while to work though after EPG updates - so "live" EPG isn't really workable.
