At 6.11am this morning, BBC2 Network marks 50 years - to the day - since BBC2 launched the first regular colour television service in Europe, by showing a reasonably lengthy playout of the 1967 ident, accompanied with an anno that is occasion-related.

....became the first in Europe AND in Britain to broadcast regular colour tv....

Odd contradictory statement !?

Yes, I was going to mention this. Sounded like a post-Brexit kind of statement, as if Britain is not wholly regarded as being inside Europe anymore!

It is odd, if you consider both scanarios regarding Britain being within or out of Europe, neither match up with the script !

Bit of a strange question, but what exactly is the BBC Two Overnight Filler? I've seen people talking about it but there's not much explanation for it.

The looped selection of BBC2 programming played in the early hours until around 6am in the weekdays. Your EPG will name it 'This Is BBC TWO' or 'This Is BBC TWO HD'

NI going for something different - yet appropriate. The other nations and network had the dotted 2 ident.

'The return'?! It was in use last week for the tennis from Eastbourne.

My bad, I thought I'd been very careful with my choice of wording there. What is the length of time something has to be away for before you can say it's a return?

My unfortunate over use of punctuation too.

I would agree it has returned, as there's been little tennis coverage so far this year on Two. But it was more that it had been in use last week for Eastbourne, rather than returning this week for Wimbledon.
