BBC Two 2015 with 90s idents

Whats the deal with this ident on Viemo: The users seems to be creator and also has some used/unused BBC one stings.

In addition to the original name-captioned intros 623058 has provided links to, I have three versions. I don't think I have anything missing but I obviously can't guarantee it. Here are the starting shots to the three I have:

BBC2 has missed a trick, with the Britain's Greatest Invention trail. With a bit of further modification, the lightbulb on the endboard could have been made into the 2 shape, and I can visualize it working very well. A wasted opportunity there.

Not really. The series it's advertising is Britain's Greatest Invention. An invention often springs from an idea to solve a problem, problems can be signified by a question mark; ideas, can be signified by a lightbulb, so it's a perfect fusion. A lightbulb shaped 2 would miss the point.

No, not exactly. I just thought, as the shape of the top half of the lightbulb on this endshot isn't a million miles away from the 2 shape, it could possibly have been re-jigged as a 2 lightbulb.

I did not expect them to use optic going into Glastonbury

Yeah, definitely too sombre an ident to use for Glastonbury. Why not dig out the Electric Proms one?

Or even "Art" Type ident there use on Saturday nights.

I've never understood why this wasn't added to the regular set, high quality visual effects and a lovely soundtrack. It was used for what, a week(?), and then never seen again. Indeed, in 2008 they designed a new EP ident that was much lower quality.



Some truly bizarre decisions taken during that time period 2007-10. I suppose there's no reason it couldn't be reinstated today, as is the vogue, although I doubt it's even remembered it existed at this point. I think the majority would like to see more use of the Arts night set too.
