Sir Trevor must have be the first man to have appeared in idents for two different broadcasters. Certainly specially made idents.

Harry Hill appeared in a Channel 4 circles era ident and an ITV1 ident. Robson Green has appeared in an ITV 1 ident and a Channel 5 ident. There's probably quite a few as there's been various 'celebrity' idents across various channels.

Is it just me or ever since the We Know Food BBC Two ident was introduced, it seems that the Kebab BBC Two ident is being used less often?

Kebab's been used mainly for comedy programming, but Zapper is played out for the majority of these shows.

Was Kebab designated for light hearted programming when it was originally launched? I don't see the connection between comedy and spinning meat.

Not sure, but I'd agree with the fact that Kebab isn't suited for comedy, more with food programming.

No, it wasn't a comedy ident. One of the recordings on TV Ark was introducing Working Lunch.

I'd associate it with food programming as it normally was - but since that 'We Know Food' ident was introduced, Kebab today is used to introduce comedy, not as much as Zapper though.

I don't dispute that. But Larry asked what it was originally used with (back in 2000). Working Lunch was a business programme.
