I'm more than aware of the current circumstances of the studios, but nor do Premier Foods own the Oxo Tower.

TVC is an iconic building and deserves to be treated as such rather than use whatever pointless brand is flavour of the month with executives.

So I have heard it will be BBC Studios at Television Centre.

Unlikely I'd have thought as the name 'BBC Studios' has been taken by something else.

They'd have a BBC Studios production being filmed at BBC Studios....

BBC TV Studios would be another name. I am just pointing out the fact. No matter how we want to see it, Television Centre is now the name of the complex, BBC logo was taken off the side of the famous TC1 building for a reason, BBC do not own the complex anymore.

It would come as no surprise to me that there will be no logo reinstalled on the side of TC1. Television Centre logo has been retained, and maybe a small plaque with the BBC Studioworks logo at the entrance to the studios part of the complex is more likely.

The tag (at the moment) is BBC Studios at Television centre.

Although Worldwide are at Television centre the BBC signage is very discreet. Its a marketing decision to avoid the reality that it isn't really a 'television centre' but a complex of flats (sorry apartments) , offices (some of which will be occupied by the BBC & other media companies if all goes to plan) a Club & leisure complex. Stanhope have being trying to avoid the term BBC Television Centre. As things stand don't expect a BBC sign on the studio bit of the building.

It was taken off when they handed over the building. But they're leasing that part of it back so there's no reason why the BBC logo won't go back on as it is on every other building they lease - Salford, Birmingham, Norwich, Glasgow etc.

Though as Troggles says it depends what they've agreed with the owners and the whims of marketing

However BBC Studioworks will own them, not the BBC, BBC Studioworks is a separate entity, owned by their commercial arm BBC Worldwide, (which is also based at Television Centre complex). So I have heard it will be BBC Studios at Television Centre.

Not sure that's the case. BBC Worldwide, BBC Studioworks and BBC Studios are - I believe - separate commercial operations. I don't think BBC Studioworks is under the BBC Worldwide umbrella.

According to Wiki BBC Studioworks is a commercial subsidary of the BBC. There is no mention of BBC Worldwide.

Indeed, a better starting point might be the BBC's actual own website…

http://www.bbc.co.uk/aboutthebbc/insidethebbc/whatwedo/commercialbusiness#heading-bbc-studioworks

The BBC appears to list it as a separate commercial business, not part of BBC Worldwide.

One thing I'm wondering- will elections be moving back to TC1, or will they be staying in Elstree D? Especially as they've set up all the comms and stuff there.

Surely it has to be better for everyone to have the studio in London. They done ok with getting guests to Elstree but I imagine White City would offer many more options...

Being in London isn't very important for election programmes, the action is all happening around the country and that's where the candidates are.
Elstree might be better in some respects as for any politicians coming in from their constituencies it's arguably more convenient than White City - most of them will be north or west of London.

The next day it's mostly Westminster based so Elstree might as well be W12, W1 or Osterley for all it matters
