Can't say I've ever seen this one before.

Its taking ages to get the problem fixed too, must be a good 10 minutes now. Haven't seen a breakdown as long as this before. The match will be over at this rate. Sad
Do you think its meant to look like a drinking straw/

Oh, its just come back. Hurrah.

Satellite uplink dish at the O2 Arena blown over by the wind. Tennis coverage lost the world over.

Going again... and it's back!

Surprised they haven't got a live continuity announcer in place for tonight, as there's a live broadcast which gives plenty of opportunities for under/over runs and falling off air.

As said in the Sport Thread, Sky Sports were completely unaffected.

Are Sky adding their own graphics? If they are it may be that they've been supplied with a clean feed and have made their own arrangements to get the OB back to their base.

The BBC look to be just using the shared international feed with host broadcaster graphics as it was hastily arranged, and it could be that the uplink for this is what fell over.

Scratch that, the Beeb have Sue Barker and Tim Henman at the venue so must have their own uplink back to TVC

I would have thought they'd have a pre-recorded apology at least.

It was apparently a 700kg dish, which blew 3m off course. It's a bit windy out tonight.

BT are there today installing a fibre circuit for the Beeb. Horse and Bolt come to mind.

Sky had a fibre - the rest of the world (BBC and World feeds) were using satellite...
