Rumour has it that BBC Three is going to be getting a brand refresh.
One word, why?
Sure - they might have rushed on THREE to facilitate the online move/linear closure last year - but if this is true - then we can see a wide BBC refresh.
Also it's very telling considering how the dire 'Oneness' is only there for 2017, and BBC TWO and FOUR haven't changed their presentation much.
Yep I suspect a new bbc logo will launch next year. BBC iPlayer is getting a refresh too I believe which makes me wonder even more.

I think it'll be sooner than next year. There must have been a reason why BBC2 brought out those Christmas idents again, and another reason why BBC One partially refreshed on New Year's Day. I predict February!
How far in advance of the rebrand did we see the current BBC logo? I know it's copyright 1996, but launched in October 1997, so it was designed about a year in advance, but when did we first know about it and see it?
As usual TV Forum running away with itself. To me this rebrand isn't a sign of a coherent new brand coming soon - it's more a sign of the inconsistent branding we've come to expect with little thought for the future and no consistency across the channels.
As for this revamp - the trailer design clearly needed replacing but then it should never have been allowed on screen in the first place. The logo animations are nice enough, but so were the ones introduced last year. This logo has grown on me though and is much better with the BBC logo above the II! rather than in the corner. It's a logo template which could certainly be rolled out to BBC2, but BBC1 and BBC4 would need some thought put into it - and we all know the BBC no longer put any thought into presentation.
Look at the names of the colours in their new palette. Popo. Shell suit. Mic drop. I'm in my early twenties so I should be within their deomgraphic, yet even I find these to be as cringey as hell. It's like a mother trying to sound cool by using the slang terms she hears her teenage children use but not quite getting it right.
Nice to see that the logo in all the examples posted so far is the version with the BBC logo centred above the three pillars, rather than the one tucked in the corner.
A BBC Two rebrand must surely be on the horizon now? It feels (and looks) like the most neglected of all BBC channels and, presumably, the easiest one to sync with the new C & II! boxed motfs. At a guess I'd say Two this year with One & Four following next year with new motif's.
