Love Island is pushing it, but the concept of poaching a major show from one channel to another is not new.
Especially if you want to aggressively rebrand/reposition your channel. It’s a good marketing trick.
There’s loads of examples including Neighbours/Home and Away moving to Ch5, Bake Off to Ch4 ....

If there is any return to linear, perhaps one option is running BBC Four as a Monday - Thurs service with Three the other days? Can't see it coming back as a full channel as before.

Yeah. The tv continuity announcer going “ um, we’re back did you miss us? blah blah blah”. and I’m not saying this in a negative way. but with it being off since 2016 and e4 and itv2 booming since then. would anyone watch it?

Love Island (a big exception) aside neither are booming, quite the opposite. E4 in particular is struggling.

Not the worst idea in the world.

I'm fully aware, but Love Island? That's a no. That's ITV2's cash cow to be poached to a niche PSB? Yeah not happening.

Where are you getting your facts from? E4 is struggling. It's not 'The Inbetweeners'/Misfits era anymore.

That’s a commercial brand, though. So that’d probably be problematic.

I'd say a bit more than problematic.

When I say “problematic”, what I really mean is “never gonna happen, mon frere”.

Here’s a wild idea: being realistic.
