Watching B2 (Ahhh... Tumble Tower's complete laziness - after all, two more characters to make it BBC2 would be too much of an ordeal...!) and I saw on the ECP at the end of Masterchef the old BBC3 colours and logo were being used in the "Next" boxes advertising the upcoming shows on BBC1, 2 & 3. Do you think the BBC3 logo and colour will change?
The blobs were unique, I've given it a few days, and I still don't see why they had to get rid of the blobs.
True. The Blobs were to BBC Three what the globe (whether spinning model, graphic image or hot air balloon) was to BBC One, or the 2 is to BBC Two (in all its guises in the 1991, 2001 and 2007 ident sets).

The idents/animations/etc. do look good, but they're a bit pointless.
The blobs did grow a little stale as they've been the same for five year. But why not put them into what is this new 'three' world that's filled with colour and a new logo, taking the old into the new.
Agreed. I do like the new BBC Three idents, but they could have incorporated the Blobs into the new idents. For example, in the street one, they could have had a Blob going into the pink puddle.

Though the BBC did do the same with CBBC's bugs (though you could say that they still live on through CBeebies).
Again, it's a shame they've done away with the CBBC Channel green bugs (their equivalent of blobs), it's great that the CBeebies yellow bugs (blobs) live on. Let's hope CBeebies don't ditch them. Also it would be sacrelige for them to ditch the Goodnight Song "The time has come to say goodnight" at closedown.
Isn't an ident supposed to be the identity of a channel? That's why i find it difficult to understand why BBC3 buried them. It's like BBC getting rid of the balloon * whistles*. Why do the Beeb have to interfere with all that's good and then broadcast crap programmes with the rebranding. Everything changes, except the license fee. Product standard goes down but the price increases. Time for some rebellion from us the little people.
I think BBC Three comes off the same playout system as CBBC, hence the potential for the offending DOG to appear. I think CBeebies and BBC Four also share playout.
That has happened with BBC Four and CBeebies before now, once when I recorded the opening to CBeebies, the BBC FOUR DOG was erroneously still in the top left hand corner of the screen when CBeebies was starting.
Has the BBC Three DOG ever know to remain showing during the first few minutes of CBBC Channel being on air at 7am?

Please, Lord. Don't ever let me get up at 7am to record CBBC on the off-chance that the BBC3 DOG might be in the corner. This must be, what, stage 6?
I'm going to bed...
I don't understand why there has to be a static slide when a programme contains strong language... couldn't the announcer just mention it in their announcement?

You don't have to ge up that early to record it manually. Just programme your VCR or DVD recorder the night before to record from, say, 6:55 am to 7:05 am.

Urgh. They *know* that. They were being sarcastic.
Whether you realise it or not you come across as patronising.
