What's with the in-vision continuity and lack of idents?
Well, at least there
are
idents - and stings - and personally I think they are quite beautiful (if you can say that about such things).
However, all this false in-vision continuity with the blow-up doll and the viewer generated content is a pile of crud. Get rid of that and just leave the animations and it would look a whole lot better.
1. The IVC link I saw looked like an old-fashioned Yorkshire Television continuity announcement from the 70s in front of a multi-coloured 2008 background. Very odd. And out of date.
But Yorkshire Television never had in vision announcers.

Apparently not strictly true. The TV Room lists an IVA for Yorkshire on its pages and there have been discussions on DS about it, but it seems they were very short lived in the early 70s.
It does feel more like the pres all-round is weighted towards teen girls now, thanks to all the slightly cutesy soft pink-ness pervading the channel.
I just look at all of what I've seen thus far - logo, colour scheme, environment and the 'organic / beautiful' element of the design theme - and my initial gut reaction is, I find it somewhat difficult to believe that this is something that can really endear itself to most males within the (intended) target audience...
Surely this is not another major oversight from the Bee? Time will tell, but
at best
I'd expect mixed reactions to all this...
Is Lily Allen the worst tv show host or the second worst? I can't make up my mind. I really think the BBC have ruined BBC Three. It just feels and looks so utterly rubbish now. The more I think about this rebrand it annoys me. The blobs were innovative, witty, appealing to anyone with a sense of humour - young and old, interesting and unique. Ok, they needed updating, so why didn't they update them instead of launching an unnecessary over-haul? What can be said about the new look? The logo reminds people of heart fm or the much hated Olympic logo so it isn't innovative and doesn't inspire positive reactions, aside from the fact that it is garish. The channel sometimes has idents which are nothing special and seem designed to appeal to young girls, thus alienating most of their viewers. At other times they use viewers to introduce shows in a way which is frankly BORING and looks cheap. The news is about as dummed down as it could be. It wouldn't be so bad if it were even a tiny bit better than what it has replaced but it is vastly inferior. Just awful - a waste of money, and a waste of a channel.
Surprised 60 Seconds covered a story from AlJazeera English, quite interesting!
I actually like the new 60 seconds, apart from that ticker! its terrible. I really love the idents and the trailers, everything! However, it does all look a bit flamboyant.
