I'm wondering, should I be wearing my "save bbc3 news" wristband to show support for good news on the revamped channel?

I'm trying desperately to imagine what it would be like if the way the branding is going has any bearing on what BBC3 News will continue as.

And BBC3 is the most popular digital channel

I assume you mean "most popular for their ever-changing target audience".

If you actually mean "most popular digital channel" then you are way off the mark! It is heavily beaten by both ITV2 and ITV3.
No im not - its the most popular digital channel between 7pm and 4am. And seeing as that when BBC3 broadcasts, i think thats the measure that should count.

Well that's rubbish for a start as when the overnight figures come in, it's very rare BBC3 or BBC4 get even a mention. It's usually ITV2, E4 and Sky One fighting out for digital viewers in primetime. BBC3 of course has the odd break out hit, but it's hardly at the top of the multi-channel list every night.

Urmmm sorry but facts are facts - have a look at the BARB top 10 - www.barb.co.uk and compare it with others.

It has the highest audience share of any digital channel between the hours of 7pm and 4am followed by ITV2 - that is a fact, why would i make it up?, have a search of Broadcast or MediaGuardian to find it if you dont believe me. Sky One's way down the list now, behind the main Freeview channels.

EDIT: The BBC have now confirmed whative been saying on here for the last week - the relaunch is next Tuesday: http://www.bbc.co.uk/pressoffice/pressreleases/stories/2008/02_february/05/bbcthree.shtml

BBC Three "most popular digital channel"?

Poppycock.

Christopher Price may have long since left us but he would still have more to offer than the unworthy Lily Allen - and her 10 a'penny opinions on sleb culture.

Rolling Eyes ... its a FACT! Between 7pm and 4am it is. Not over the full 24 hours, but of course its not cos it only broadcasts for 9. As i said to Brekkie have a look at Broadcast or MediaGuardian.

The most popular stuff is the films, EastEnders repeats of course, Doctor Who repeats do very very well, Family Guy. Out of their original stuff the new series of Two Pints is doing brilliantly at the mo, Drop Dead Gorgeous, Last Man Standing, Gavin and Stacey, Freaky Eaters, Dog Borstal and The Mighty Boosh do very well. All these programmes get over 500,000 - in the w/e 20th Jan Sky 1 didnt mange 1 programme over 500,000, ITV2 had 7, while BBC3 had 10+.

I'm not the one suggesting that Sky gets better figures. In fact no one is!

BBC Three's most popular programmes (with the exception of the oft repeated 2 pints) are BBC One repeats. Fact.

With the advent of iPlayer and VoD one has to wonder what the point is.

For my money Living is a better digital channel. It carries some real gems from home and abroad.

With very few exceptions I haven't missed Sky 1 since I lost it via cable - and Virgin have picked up the Star Trek franchises meaning I'm unlikely ever to go back.

You're not going to sell me on BBC Three, I'm afraid.

Give us the quote and the link to back that up - I can't find anything anywhere to suggest that. And BBC propaganda doesn't count!

Puzzling thing to for w/e 13/1 - 60 Seconds is listed as getting over 1m - I thought OFCOM could only measure 15 min slots.

E4 also had 10+ over 500,000, and unlike BBC3 they were all programmes premiering on the channel.

I should jolly well think that BBC3 would get more viewers than Sky 1... it is available on Freeview. Noone's denying that, within its market, it does pretty well, but then again any channel with as much money thrown at it, and of course BBC in its name, should do arguably even better.

I just don't agree with the direction they're taking the channel in. It seems that they're jumping on the whole Myspace and Youtube bandwagon, just as other broadcasters (most notably MTV, who've just closed down MTV Flux) are realising that it is not the way to go.
