LOL! I've just seen the crud, I'm sorry new drama, BBC Three are offering. I used to love the channel (well before it started to repeat things again and again) but I don't think it's going to be my cup of tea any more.

I am similarly not enthralled by the trailers for the revamped channel. I am not in their target demographic, but I did used to enjoy BBC Three. This looks like "CBBC-at night".

Does anyone actually like what they've seen so far? I am equally unimpressed. I liked the early BBC Three - 3 Non Blondes, Dreamspaces, and I like some things at the mo, but do I want to watch a channel that looks like it's aimed at 12 year old chav girls? No thanks. Switch off. Good job the BBC has launched the i-player. I don't understand why they need to "relaunch" and heap expectation upon us - does anyone buy this anymore? They had a distinctive symbol in the blob. Surely they could have just updated it - new background or scenarios for the blobs? Just as they could have modernised the balloon or any other symbol they so rashly drop for yet another unexciting, money-wasting, unconvincing relaunch. At times I am inclined (although reluctantly) to think the Daily Mail has a point.

I'm not too sure on the new look either, but I will wait until I see it on-screen before I make my judgement.
ATM, I think it would have been nice if they were to keep the blobs, but created different backgrounds for them...

I was thinking the same. I don't have a problem with the new styling of the lettering on the logo, as it is time to move on from the blue and the slanted logo, but why move away from something as strong as the blobs. Even if it were to take them away from talking, and place them with a more musical signature tune, maybe reverting back to the 'three is the magic number' theme, albeit updated maybe.

You mean make it look like Cbeebies? Well worth my licence fee!

I recorded every programme junction from BBC Three last night, including the closedown. At closedown there was no montage of the blobs idents unlike when BBC One said goodbye to the Rhythm and Dance idents in October 2006, or BBC Two said goodbye to the yellow 2s last February, so that's a possible hint that last night was NOT the last night of the Blobs idents.

We shall see just before 19:00 tonight what BBC Three is using this evening. No-one seems to know exactly when the new BBC Three idents are to come in, various dates have been suggested. I'd like to see a definite date from an official source, ideally BBC Three web site.

Very funny StuartPlymouth! I hardly think so, I watched very little B3 output actually. I set the timer on my HDD/DVD recorder to record five minutes either side of the scheduled start of a programme, e.g. for the 1:15 am showing of Fat Men Can't Hunt, I set it to record 1:10 to 1:20. Recordings are made on the hard disk so they can later be trimmed, to leave just the idents, and I can delete duplicate idents I don't want.

Great! Very Happy Here's a witty idea to add a touch of CBeebies to BBC Three. Write a lullaby for BBC Three, and get the blobs to sing it at BBC Three closedown, i.e. 4 to 5 am or whenever. That would be equivalent to Chris Jarvis singing the CBeebies Goodnight Song (a lullaby) on CBeebies around 6:55pm each evening before CBeebies closes down and hands its bandwith on Mux B to BBC Four.
