The content is going to be available on BBC One and Two, not exclusively online. The content will have a channel.

A post-11pm slot on BBC1/2 is not a channel. Shows being moved to BBC1 are being refocused to the BBC1 audience.

Just look at Russell Howard's Good News which has been tweaked subtly to fit in with BBC Two's older audience. with the change in the guest feature, same with Backchat with Jack Whitehall.

Which ones ? Do you mean the £30m to invest in younger skewing drama ?

Lets not pretend that BBC Three content isn't predominantly mainstream. It consists mainly of BBC One / Two repeats, Who, Musketeers, The Voice, Eastenders, Top Gear & movies. It has some cult US cartoons post 10pm - by far the most popular slots on the service suggesting a post 10pm slot for any BBC Three content is not out of reach of the available audience.

The landmark stuff is comedy, drama and some documentaries, some of which have already been announced for BBC Two, and so can maintain the BBC 3 'edginess'. These programmes can find a wider younger audience on BBC One / Two way over and above BBC 3's 1.5% audience share.

I agree on BBC1+1, this appears to be a sop to the older audience who haven't adapted to technology or embraced iPlayer.

I can't help but feel they would have been better off saying "BBC Three is closing... the drama budget will go to BBC1, the comedy budget will go to BBC2, with the rest shared between both."

As long as 90mins of NEW daily content appears on the iplayer it will match the current new output.

They just shown the BBC Trust's plans with BBC3 and BBC1+1 and extending hours of CBBC in a medium of a clip.

Really weird scheduling at the moment of a highlights show of the series Parking Mad which was shown on BBC One in 2013. It's a very un-BBC Three show. Giving up already or a last ditch attempt to increase the ratings/share in quieter timeslots ahead of the BBC Trust's decision?

Probably not.

Jen the continuity announcer left at the beginning of March, so it feels like its winding down, even with a few new shows.

They've clearly been winding down since the beginning of the year, and this period is making it quite difficult for new show to establish themselves. Just a complete disregard for the process - after the saving of 6Music and Asian Network I was quite optimistic about BBC3's chances, especially when the actual plans were released and made no sense at all, but have very little faith in Rona Fairhead at all to act in the interests of viewers.

Didn't she also leave Radio 1 around the same time?
