I think that happened a few weeks ago, thankfully. Now if only FX could do the same - they use 'Next' to announce the programme that's about to start in the ident introducing it. As I believe most here would agree, 'Next' is always the programme that follows the one that's on - or just starting.
When I hear "Next on Three, it's Family Guy", I take that to mean that the programme about to start is Family Guy. When they then go "But first, here's Eastenders", it just sounds odd.
"Then" - does that mean they have dropped the silly "Next" that makes it sound like the programme is coming on after the break?
