I much prefer it if I'm honest, the music is particularly catchy - this was later used by those ITV2 showbiz updates so I assume it must be library stuff.

Also came from that bizarre period when Choice had a load of new content which must've been earmarked for Three - even their idents of the time could have been BBC Three idents.

Exactly what someone has posted in the blog - this was because the launch of Three was supposed to come in 2001, but of course it was not approved, and so instead of waiting two years to start/show this content, they just put it on Choice.

It was hard for those who worked at Choice, because they knew they were going, but they had to still promote themselves with this new content.

Talking of BBC Three, I've recently acquired Monkey Dust and have sat through them laughing my head off. Why can't BBC3 make edgy stuff like that nowadays rather than relying on second-rate half-assed stuff like Angry Boys?

However, it probably costs less to play a library track now than pay royalties to a artist.

Don't the Beeb pay a flat rate on music usage? You can't really expect them to stick with the same music for ten years, anyway.

Well they've stuck with the same music since 2003.

Not quite the same music - it now has the BBC Three sonic logo embedded into it which came from the last re-fresh of the channel a couple of years ago.

What staffing changes were there between the Stuart Murphy lead BBC Choice of 2001-2003 and the Stuart Murphy lead BBC Three of 2003 onwards?

If you're referring to the music on the original 60 Seconds, it's actually a track by Faithless. It's called Machines R Us.

Thank you! This is now on my Zune!

Well I meant the whole of the BBC of course - it was hard to promote Choice when people knew it was going.

A new Family Guy special was pushed back for 45 minutes due to the women's football tonight; very annoying.

Yes, as do all the big broadcasters. It's easier than working it all out, however they do still need to log what is played
