I noticed tonight at the start up, the awful in-vision continuity woman said it was her last time on BBC Three, and that she's gone for the summer. In her words "Hopefully i'll see you again sometime"....
I believe that's because the continuity girl is Jose Vanders, who is actually a talented singer/songwriter in her own right, and is going on a summer tour. Google her.
It's always made me feel that it's a weird way to start a channel up at night cutting in with a bit of continuity, not even an ident or sting beforehand, I think the best ident that they have for start up is the one that goes around the globe at the start.
I much prefer out of vision continuity, it works for other channels. It wouldn't be so annoying to me if it were not for the fact that these in vision people aren't in the same league as the ones I grew up with in the 70's and 80's like Peter Marshall, Peter Lewis, Philip Elsmore, Robin Houston. They were witty and classy and didn't try to be a star.
As well as being faint, the DOG is always on screen, over the promos and presentation, so it would appear the graphics technology isn't quite up to the job tonight.
It would appear they've finally realised that the only thing people watch on BBC Three is Family Guy, so they're putting it on every night. While I like watching Family Guy, I really don't think it's right that a BBC channel is having to run doubles bills of imports every night. It just enforces the theory that BBC Three is a joke.
