Tumbly wumbly's not here yet, haven't truly got a handle on this year's proceedings until I hear his thoughts.

I expect him to find a proportion of the content "Tommy Rot" - that which isn't Jimmy Cricket, of course.

I'll be disappointed if this isn't the case.

It's Red Nose Day he hates.

What's interesting is that this year is the first ever year that it's not starting at 7pm. They've left The One Show on this year with it starting at 7.30pm tonight.

Strange Decision.

Could be because Matt's travelling across the country has been so successful and has had a lot of interest, and more importantly donations from the One Show viewers.

He dislikes CIN a little too. At least you got Ben still holding out hope for better regional opt-outs.

Usually though the climax of that sort of thing would be in the telethon itself - to encourage viewers of The One Show to watch it.

Anyhow, might as well dig out any thread from the last few years to sum up how I feel about the show itself - and now it seems to be spreading itself over two nights to give those musical guests even more time to plug their Christmas merchandise.

I think you're vastly underestimating his ire.

Really not interested in CiN at all this year. It's been going downhill for years, but replacing Gaby with Kaplinsky is not the way to go! Watching Wogan and her on the Eurovision thing was cringeworthy at best!

Also, as a side note but do you think it might be an idea to bring Children in Need forward a month or so. At the moment it's scheduled around the same time as the Poppy appeal and just after Blue Peter launch their annual appeal (this year collecting old/foreign coins & mobiles for Childline). Also, when I was at school we always used to have a training day on the day of CiN, so the school never really bothered.

I agree.

I thought that it is an odd decision too. Presumably they want to complete the one show rickshaw cycle, but surely they could have included it as part of children in need especially as the c/a has just said that Matt is cycling down to TVC.

I agree.

And funnily enough the schools around here were closed today.

Doesn't take much to bounce any proper news off South Today, using CiN as an excuse. I switched on at 18:38, and it's been CiN nonsence all the way. Presumably I've missed the actual local news ?

According to Look North's OB in my home town, they're doing an old-school regional bounce song, where they go around the regional OBs all singing the same song hopefully in time. Expect cock ups Smile
