As for sketches, the only one that impressed me was the Dragons' Den/Alan Sugar one, that was brilliant. Very Happy

I wasn't too keen on Dragon's Den. In particular I didn't like some of Alan Sugar's comments, he seemed to be moaning about various things, e.g. no lift.

You do realise it was a joke, yes?

I really enjoyed that sketch. Think it showed that Alan Sugar isn't that much of a hard-nut and they just took the Michael out of each other. I did like the bit where Evan was at the bottom of the stairs with the microphone and when Alan Sugar kept calling Hilary 'James'.

Sorry if some users disliked my frequent comments about last night, including my quoting the running total (in some cases with comparison to equivalent times previous years) each time the total was announced until midnight. As a TV Forum user I had as much rights as any other user to voice my opinion on the programme whenever I felt like it.

Quite right too, and thank you Tumble Tower, for keeping us up to speed last night with comprehensive updates regarding Children In Need 2011. Having not been near a television set myself during the hours in which the annual telethon took place (19:30 - 22:00 and 22:30 - 02:00 with a national news bulletin from 22:00 - 22:25 followed by a regional news bulletin from 22:25 - 22:30 in between), your updates were most helpful and I look forward to you sharing your commentary and thoughts on Children In Need 2012 with great anticipation. Really appreciated, thank you. Very Happy

I don't think they've ever had Coronation Street on CIN. One year (last year or the year before) they had EastStreet, in which the cast of EastEnders and Coronation Street did an episode together on CIN.

Coronation Street and The Bill used to both feature regularly. Hollyoaks have done a studio performance for the past few years too.

And Dragon's Den was brilliant, along with the choir. The recorded sketches though for Children in Need do seem on the short side though - and they could have done with something which ran throughout the evening too.

No, they used to do one every year, they've done Grease, Oliver!, Gok on Coronation Street..

Didn't realise he now had a missus too - Blush Bear.

Blush is Pudsy's "pal", nothing more. As such I'm told there are guidelines about not referring to them as "boyfriend/girlfriend", and their head should not be seen to touch.

True? I don't know - but a pal was answering phones for CIN in Scotland on Friday and this is what he learned.

I take it you didn't think much of Vic and Bob's segment then, Tumbler?

I thought it was very poor, just a series of scripted insults, and cheap shots. I know it's supposed to be light hearted stuff, but it would have been more entertaining, and dare I suggest, interesting , to have had the Dragons scrutinise a business case from Sugar.

Yes, but that's arguably more hurtful for Sugar ("this emailer phone is crap - you wouldn't sell nearly enough, and your model for advertising will never work out") than the cheap-shot jokes that they were doing. And I found it rather funny, albeit a little unstructured.
