I wonder if that'll mean they'll take the eggs and egg-cups off the top of the building. .

You're assuming there'll be a building left!

Why was the MTV/TV-am Studios a listed building in the first place? It was extensively modified in 1980-81 by TV-am, and I don't think their design necessitates "listed building" status:

It's because it was an early example of post modern architecture Lots of info about it here: http://www.tv-am.org.uk/studios.asp

Looking at the before photo on that site it looks like only part of it was converted from the garage, the rest was built new.

That's a bit like asking whether Swiss Re might like to move from the gherkin building in the City of London to the vacant and decrepit old bank premises on my local high street.

Anyone know why Have I Got News For You have always chosen to record at ITV's London Studios rather than TVC?

It's made by an Independent called Hat Trick. They can choose to record their programme wherever they like. In fact, even BBC productions can be made at the studio they decide offers the best deal.

I've never been to TVC or The London Studios, Ive barely been to London. Just to the DOcklands to a Motor Show. I'd imagine that TLS is easier seems it is quite close to Waterloo if you catch by train. It looks easier by car too from what ive seen on Google Earth. But you can;t knoch it till u tried it!!

Of course. It happens far more than people realise. That's producer choice and the independent sector for you.

It's not too far from Waterloo and parking is possible near London Studios. TVC is right opposite White City underground station, but parking in the area is pretty difficult.

Didn't seem too difficult for a certain taxi, though...
