TVC by train ... is rather fiddly.

Not really. White CIty tube station is less than two minutes walk from BBC TVC.

That's a tube not a train Smile From Waterloo, it's another 30-45 mins. Easier from Paddington I concede

I did a show at TVC last week and had a dressing room next to Patsy Kensit.

Which was nice.

Don't get your hopes up! It's on the Silverlink line - a sort of north circular loop line which goes from somewhere like Woolwich to Richmond... can't quite remember what the details are! I only ever used the line once when working at TVC, to get me from Willesden Junction to Stratford when the tube was closed because of a strike. It took ages and the pootle cattle waggon that turned up was two carriages of sheer hell...!

Has anyone heard the rumour that the BBC Television Centre could be sold off by the end of this year?

They're selling off the whole of BBC Resources not just TV Centre. I can't see TV Centre going anywhere yet, but reckon he new owners will get rid of a few of the lesser used bits around the edges.

On a similar subject, apparently the MTV/TV-am studios no longer have listed building status and MTV are looking to move out to somewhere else

Soon to be taken over by Transport for London and renamed 'The London Overground'. http://www.alwaystouchout.com/project/66

I wonder if that'll mean they'll take the eggs and egg-cups off the top of the building. Apparently MTV wanted rid of them as they didn't fit their image, but weren't allowed due to the listed building status. All they could do was hope that they fell off, which some of them did.

Why was the MTV/TV-am Studios a listed building in the first place? It was extensively modified in 1980-81 by TV-am, and I don't think their design necessitates "listed building" status:

Whoopsie. That was remiss of me, but I had a flight to catch right after.

I only had time to text Hyma - although he was busy with Jackie Bird, I understand.

Willesden Junction to Clapham Junction, aka the West London Line - it's the line which already stops at Kensington Olympia (from where there's currently a shuttle bus service to the BBC in W12). And yes, it's currently run by Silverlink, who are rubbish.
