Agree, I feel some of the stuff wasn't made at TV centre - eg that famous Newsnight interview with Paxman I don't think was from TV centre.

Paxman/Howard Newsnight interview were definitely from TV Centre - TC2 era.

Newsnight was made in Lime Grove in the 80s, but by the late 80s/early 90s it had moved to TVC. (Can't quite remember the date of the move - I have some recollection of asbestos and studio numbers issues that hampered it - but that was definitely a TC2 show)

Ok my mistake, I thought they were in Lime Grove at that time.

Yes, considering the calibre of guests Chris Hollins was a very odd addition to the line up. And although very good value considering his TV career peaked with Pets Wins Prizes Danny Baker was an odd choice too.

I thought Danny was a good choice purely because he spoke his mind, and I suspect that's why he was there.

Does anybody know if there are any plans to put the Michael Grade programme on to iPlayer?
So far I can just see the one show & the Richard Thompson programmes.

Its on there now, get_iplayer while you can

Is there a repeat of the Grade programme due?

My Sky Plus failed, plus my back up Freeview ran out before the end, as it was longer than 2 hours for a DVD!

Given BBC 4 repeats just about everything, I suspect it will get a repeat. Unless of course they want to keep the move low key (but I doubt that)

It was mentioned elsewhere that Goodbye Television Centre programme should have been on BBC One rather than on BBC Four. I would rather see quite a nerdy programme about BBC Television Centre made for BBC Four rather than one that has had to be made suitable for BBC One. Hopefully I won't be disappointed.

Agreed, it deserved a higher billing I thought , considering the history of the place.

It did very well in the ratings with 1.41 million peaking at 1.6 according to DS and 792k for the Madness concert.

I think people find their way to quality no matter where they hide it in the schedules. And it was a quality show I thought (point about the relevance of the clips taken).

Shame they didn't broadcast in HD on the night , the Madness repeat has great picture quality tonight.

Surely then you are disagreeing with David?

I completely agree with David - it had far more freedom to be exactly what it needed to be on BBC4 rather than a sugar coated mainstream affair on BBC1.

No repeats scheduled at the moment - the other two shows from last night get a repeat tomorrow night but this doesn't at all. I do suspect though it'll get an outing on BBC2 sooner rather than later.

Presumably because he is primarily a writer and wrote for most of the biggest names in Television/comedy during the 80's and 90's.

Although the main celebrations were fantastic and a fiiting send-off for TV Centre, I just hope ITV do the same, later this year, with the closure of the ITV Granada Studio's in Manchester which opened earlier than BBC TV Centre and many firsts were done at those studios!

It would be nice to see something done in the Granada region at least a bit more substantial than the reports we've seen this week, even if it's only in a 30 minute slot somewhere. Sadly though the way ITV is now I just can't see that happening - it'll either be national or nothing.

I thought it was excellent, probably could have heard more discussion for hours! Nice of Schofe to have been given a day pass from ITV to for the occasion. Only niggles were the unnecessary filmic effect zoomed archive clips (where’s Richard Marson when you need him?!)

Enjoyed The One Show as well as they battled the elements (how they must have wished for weather like this time last year!) Some nice VTs - especially those jumping around the studios and the unmistakable voice of David Allan.

I think there was definitely scope for another programme looking at particularly brilliant moments of shows from TVC, rather than just quick clips during a montage.
