Nonsense, it has no socksual connotations at all. Only someone with a filthy mind could possibly think it had anything to do with secks.

Jenny, in view of the way the warped minds seem to work in the BBC Childrens' Department I wouldn't be surprised if "Socks" wasn't imposed as the name because someone had a footwear addiction. "Cookie" seems an innocuous enough name to me.

Well, at least they don't get the names Sookie and C*cks mixed up.

Just read that Strictly Come Dancing is to air it's result show on Sunday nights this year - so do we think this is a result of all the phone line issues that have arisen in the last year, or just a case of the BBC wanting to win back some viewers on Sunday nights.

Reading today that out only 130,000 people have applied for refunds from GMTV despite it affecting £25m calls really does raise the question that do the public care as much as the media do?

They also say participation has slumped by over half - from a combined total worth £400m to £120m - but when you consider how many competitions etc. have been axed, is that as significant as it first sounds?

Does anyone know an exact date when competitions will be bought back on the BBC?

I don't believe there is a date, I just know they will be 'phased in'.

You just want to go up to them, shake their heads about and shout WHAT ARE YOU DOING? WHY? WHY ARE YOU GIVING THE DAILY MAIL MORE AMMUNITION?!? WHY?

I know I'm two months late in replying but I just saw that post. Yes, the total amount of money they got is huge but the individiual cases are just pennies, literally. Think about it would, if you were conned of a pound would you go to the hassle of phoning people up or posting forms off? Most people would just go "F it" and not trust that company again, especially if they knew unclaimed money went to charity.

Unrelated but all linked really, I notice now the BBC are advertising their Queen documentary which has been renamed Monarchy: random subtitle, because the BBC wanted to be completely honest and as they didn't film for twelve months, felt "A Year with the Queen" wasn't appropriate.

However, having gone to that effort and knowing what trouble misleading trailers can get you into, you'd think that beginning the trailer with words to the effect of "filmed over a year" wouldn't be the smartest move!
