Looks a bit.......... itv.....

Those were my immediate thoughts when I saw it this morning.

Not a good look at all. Confused

It looks like a combination of the current ITV logo font and the 1998 ITV logo font.

Of course BBC branding tends to take inspiration from ITV these days!

Previous BBC Studios thread was archived, but I noticed this logo on the announcement for Good Omens, an Amazon/BBC Studios co-production. Presumably ahead of further commercial work.

Don't really like this logo. It's a bit (how would you say it, um) crap.

Looking at this new logo along with the recent tv channel rebrands I can't help thinking a new BBC logo might be coming soon to make it fit in better.

Other than the fact they both use a rectangler box I don't really see any resemblance.

The typeface has a 1998 ITV vibe (to me at least)

i think the font used for the "studios" legend looks very close to a "normal" version of the itv font.

take a look at these two very quick mockups:

i think the "itv" logo works better than the "bbc" logo, the fonts just don't work well together in my opinion whilst the itv logo is in the same curvy informal style seems to fit better, that's what i meant when i said it looks very itv... it looks almost like the same font.... it doesn't fit the corporate house style of the bbc at all, imo.

Not directly related to this case, but another example of a different (and more competently handled) BBC branding direction on display here:

Incredible the amount of design work going on, in areas the vast majority of the population will never see, while the two primary television channels have been left without clear directions for 7+ years.

Studio Output has done some great work recently - the BBC THREE refresh was evidence of that. Looking at the BBC Connected Studio logo - it's fresh, modern and well designed. They also look competent enough for a refresh of the BBC's main three channels - something that I can't say the same for BBC Creative.
