BBC Scotland's headquarters and studios are located at Queen Margaret Drive, Glasgow.
The have Radio studios in Queen Street, Edinbrugh. They were, for a while at least, the best equipped radio studios in Europe - at least thats what they told me when I visited about 10 years ago.
They also have studios in Beechgrove Terrace, Aberdeen. They used to film the 'Beechgrove Garden', Scotlands answer to Gardener's World in the small plot of land to the rear of the studios. Since then, they have moved the gardens to a 9 or so acre plot many miles from the city, but the name remains the same.
Talking of that does anyone know what part of BBC Scotland Queen Margaret Drive has the Reporting Scotland newsroom?
I've been there a few times to be in the audience for some comedy shows and quizzes, (remember
Superscot
??), which were all filmed in the same studio which you queued in what looked like a canteen to get into, round the side of the building.
I went on a tour of the studio when I was about 17 and got to go through the main enterance (where they kept their BAFTA's in glass cases), and the Reporting Scotland studio was in that part of the building - the older part. I think they must still use the same one ,as the wide-shot they use has
always
been the same. I remember thinking how tiny the studio was as that camera seemed to be jammed up against the wall.
No wonder Reporting Scotland doesn't have a soft-area. They can barely get both anchors and a sports presenter round that desk without getting in each others shot!
PS: I got a signed piccy of Jackie ('the') Bird. As she's known in my house. She signed it, 'For the dartboard!'. What a sweetie!

I take it that you don't like Jackie Bird?
I like her as an presenter BTW. But i'm just wondering, how come u don't like her?
Oh God, for a minute there I thought you meant Heather Stott, the weather presenter on the lunchtime North West Today!! She's Weather Heather or something like that!
In fact yesterday, Stuart make a joke and said 'Beat that report Heather!', and it was Diane doing the lunchtime weather she wasn't too pleased!!
